A Scrapbook for the New Arrival

I'm know I am a bit early but I also know if i don't start now it wont be ready in time!!

My Niece is due on the 12th of September 2009 and among other things I have decided to make a scrapbook for her first year.

So Yesterday (27th May) I went hunting for a scrapbook. i hadn't seen any online that jumped out at me, and i couldn't find any i liked in the shops either so as i do want to make it individual, a thought struck me that i should buy any scrapbook and cover it! i was in one of my favourite local craft shops and happen to stumble across a Papermania Baby girl Scrapbook and as luck may have it, it was also reduced because it was the last one - woohoo!!

I dont really like the cover but as i said it is going to have a make over so it doesnt matter. i also purchased additional 12 x 12 pockets so that gives me a total of 40 (oh man i gotta lotta work to do - lol!)

This morning (28th May) i have attacked the front cover and yes it is taking a long time it is also looking quite good even if i do say so myself!

the front cover so far - i will atempt the back after work.

The Theme chosen is Forever Friends because well i love them and think they are too cute!! i bought some Hallmark Forever Friends Baby wrappign paper from Clintons Card - its really thick and good quality and double sided, whilst i was there i also purchased a baby box, so that all the theme works together. i have filled the box with a few essentials (baby bath, baby lotion, sun cream etc...) and also 2 Winnnie the Pooh Bibs and Sleepsuits and Two books that i loved when i was little and in fact still do lol! whcih she can have read to her! :D most probably by her Auntie Christine a.k.a ME!!

The Box and Goodies;

I will attmept the back cover after work and then start working on teh inside (Ahhhhhh!!)
but for now i must get dressed and ready for work - lol!

Golden Aniversary Card

Last week, my friend asked me to make a Golden Wedding anniversary card, my instructions were; very simple and obviously gold.

I was having a particularly stressfull day when I attempted it and after wasting lots of card and different ink i finally finished and was thrilled with what I had created, it led me on tho thinking that it would also look really nice as wedding stationary or place cards, I just have to find someone getting married now - lol!!

The materials i used were;

  • plain white card, 7cm x 14.5cm (when folded)

  • Papermaina Hearts stencil,

  • A gold gel pen

  • Papermania Sparkling trims ribbon

  • and The lower half of Forever Friends Congratulations Stamp (because I dont have a congratulations stamp)

Grandma's Birthday is fast approaching

Sunday the 24th May is my Grandma's birthday, I know she loves butterflies so this is the card I have created for her.
I covered a blank card with paper from K&Co Sparkly Sweet collection and trimmed it to size, Then stamped Happy Birthday using a Papermania stamp free with this months Do Craft Magazine and used Versa Color Ink Colour Cyan.
Then added Anita's Dimension Butterflies

Card Folder

Side View Front

I really like folders and having things organised, so I decided i would create a folder for pictures of my cards, to remember what i have done, a bit like this blog but on real paper and it gave me an excuse to get creative! :D

Materials Used;

  • Plain folder from paperchase,

  • pink Kraft wrap from a £ shop,

  • striped sticky ribbon

  • K& Co Wedding Silver Twinkle Alphabet

  • K& Co Berry Sweet 3D butterfly stickers

Again im really pleased with it!

Recently a friend bought some cards off me, so I decided i would SAVE the money, (a very unusual thing for me to do!) usually i would either buy a craft magazine or more crafting materials with it but i am trying to save for a die cutting machine which if anyone could give me advice on which is the best to go for that would be so much appreciated!!

anyway i decided to buy and decorate a wooden money box to save my money in. seeing as i love butterflies i decided i would use Anita's Dimensions stickers which i think are beautiful.

I painted a money box bought from Hobbycraft with Americana Acrylic paint in Bahama Blue and then decorated with the stickers and this is the result which i am really pleased with! x
