It's Official I am in love...

...with Popcorn Bear!!!!

I bought two Popcorn Bear stamps a little while ago and at first really didnt get on with them so they were put away for a while untill i had time to concentrate on them and try to work them ut - that might sound strange but I just found them hard to get right and feel happy about the result.

Anyway now I have,

I am thrilled with what I have produced even if I do say so Myself! :-)

The first is My cousin Hannah's Birthday Card which is this weekend!
 (sorry about really terrible photos - I promise they look better irl!!)

The Second is For My Aunt and Uncle's Wedding anniversary. (I have witten their names on the little tag to personalise it!)

and the next are three I have made to sell.

 

A very Different Card

A friend of the family has been in hospital and is just getting over an operation, he is an elderly man and was in the RAF and Army. the following is a Get Well Card I have made for him,

I have stuck the paper to the diagonally and then trrimmed the card to fit the paper, I also covered the back of the card. (can't remeber which paper it was will have a look later)

Mum likes it, Arthur will like it and I'm undecided on it.

I like the fact the "written" paper is like letters home from war, Mum thinks it reminds her of the log books the pilots had to fill.

Soaps!!

Another new crafty section I'm intrested in this year is soap making, I played about abit last year but this year I would really like to makes some that I feel are good enough to give away of sell,


so this one is a first attempt in a new mould, it says Hand Made and I made it in a dark purple (I over estimated a little on the colour) and it is lavender fragranced.

Another Bracelet

I made this bracelet last night, it only took me about 20 mins which was kool, (was watching tv at the same time :)

I Really like pearl beads and these are from Swarovski, the spacers are also Swarovski.

anyways I'm rather pleased with it!

Ooops we forgot!!

It was my Aunt to be's birthday last week and we didn't know, so mum asked me to make a card, I was given the pickles and onion stamp set for my birthday last year from my lovely cousin Hannah and I've been wanting to use them, I wanted to go long the lines of "an elephant never forgets...". So this is what I created!

Ribbon & Beads Bracelet

Todays make after a lovely trip to Hobbycraft, a Ribbon and Silk Bead bracelet,


I really like the combination of ribbon and beads in jewellery,
but I couldn't work out how I would be able to
a) tie the bracelet myself and b) keep the ribbon tied when wearing,
to solve this I have added a lobster clip and ring to the end of the
ribbon to secure it when being worn

New for 2010

I Have planned to try some jewellery making this year, the following are my first attempts, which i made last month and just havent had time to upload yet.

The earrings are jet black swarovski teardrop pendants,

Beads and Pendants bought from http://www.jillybeads.co.uk/, the findings are from my stash.

Both the necklace and bracelet affirmation pendants and chain i purchased from http://www.jewelleryenchantments.co.uk/  (a really great shop for sterling silver), I wear the Necklace most days and I only made the bracelet on Thursday :-)

Craft Swaps

Hi There, I know i havent been on my blog for ages, life seems to have got in teh way lol

anyway at the moment im having a complete reassesment of my cfat stash and i wanted to set up some craft swaps but have no idea how to a) set them up or b) if there are any good sites (in england) that do this already, i was thinking of a craft version of www.readitswapit.co.uk which is a fantastic site for books,

I am Lucky to have such good friends

Well, its funny what events cause you to realise who your true friends are, in my case it fortunately isn't a sad event or even that big for that matter, but it was something that was playing on my mind and i spoke to some of my closest girlfriends about it over the last couple of weeks and now as the last few days have gone on i have discovered that with a couple of my friends they have put my little problem before their own. I have absolutely no idea how to thank them just for being my friends, so i have set to today to make for each of them that are (obviously) created individually for them!

The First is for my cousin Hannah, she's a star constantly listening to me waffle on!
I stamped the Penny Black image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, coloured with Promarkers, the sentiment is a Forever Friends one, the charm is by creative charms and the ribbons were some i had in the box that went well. the card and purple backing paper are pearlised.

The Second is for my friend Emma, Shes One in a million! and her pony is the most important thing to her, he is ginger, so as best i could i have tried to create him using Mo Manning's Digital Stamp "Shire" coloured with promarkers, mounted onto yellow card, with the addition of some purple ribbon and 3 stick on pearls.

the third is for my friend Shona, I honestly do not know what i would do without her! she absolutely loves cows, so i purchased this digital stamp (I'm really loving digi stamps at the mo!) and you can see what I've added yellow ribbon form stash, creative Charms flower charm (loving these too!) rub on sentiment and a butterfly embellishment.

And Finally the fourth card is for a very, very special friend Charlotte, she still gave me advice even though she has missed nearly a whole week of lectures because she is ill, hence the reason this is a get well card, I am hoping it will cheer her up!

I stamped Ellie using Memento Tuxedo Black ink coloured with Promarkers and mounted onto pearlised Dark Purple Card, both the spotty/stripped backing paper and the sentiment were from a Forever Friends Kit, the ribbon from my stash.

and i think that might be the longest post i have ever made, but my girlies are worth it!!

This is a card for a dear colleague of mine, we have worked together for the last 15months and tomorrow is our last day together, so i have made her a card

I used F.F Stamp, coloured with Promarkers, mounted onto Purlple Pearlecent card with three diamontes (Cannot spell right!) and a F.F. greeting. oh and a craft creation, flower charm!

Very Quick Before Work

Oh what a horrid week I have had, a relaxing week off is what was planned with lots of cardmaking, reading and relaxing, but thats not what happend!

anyways so i have missed Mo's second challenge, which i really wanted to try and do each week, I also wanted to try some new challenges, but i couldnet :( and have only managed to make 3 cards this week.



the first is for a friend of mine who has just had a little baby boy (i see a reoccuring theme, but i like it!)

the second and third are just two i made when i was finally feeling better the day before i was due back to work :(

My First Card for a Challenge

Today I decided I would challenge myself to make a card for a blog challenge,

The very talented Mo at http://digitalpenciltoo.blogspot.com/ has set up a challenge blog at http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/ the theme is Purple.

So below is the card I have created for the challenge, I hope you like it!!

I have kept it quite simple because today I have also been challenging myself with my promarkers, I began to think i didnt like them and was going to try Copics, but I took a visit to one of my Fav shops, The Invicta craft Centre at Notcutts garden Centre, and the lovely ladies there told me i could layer up Promarkerslike you can with Copics, so i purchased a few more :) and have been playing.

I have layered the hair, using pastel yellow, and i have added a slight blush to the cheeks, which you can't see. :(

anyway, i'm pleased with the card and you should really check out Mo's digital stamps, they are fantastic!

My Neice has Arrived

She's So gorgeous, arrived 9 days late at 2.30am! I am a Very Proud Auntie Christine!!!!

and here is that card i have made for her,

I used a light pink card for the backing from my stash, cut out the scalloped circle on my NEW cuttlebug :) and punched the lace border with my Fiskars lace punch. I added some pink gingham ribbon and a little Creative Charms safety pin.

the diamantes came with a Forever Friends kit but i think they work really well with these colour and image. The stamped image is Ellie bought from Stamposaurus and coloured with Promarkers. the sentiment is a rub on that i think i purchased from Poundland :)

I'm Really Happy with it.

Wedding Time

I was invited to a Colleague's evening wedding reception and a few weeks ago I bought a wedding card just in case i didn't get time to make one, but the more i looked at it the more i decided i didn't really like it, so i set to and made one.

I covered a Plain Square card with Pearlecent paper, cut out two sizes of shapes, one in the pearlecent paper and one in glitter paper, stuck them all together as you can see and added the decoupage F.F couple. added a organza ribbon from my stash, used the silver sentiment that came in a F.F kit and added 3 adhesive pearls.

I'm really pleased with it! x

First Christmas Card of the Year!!!!!

My first Christmas card of the year.

For the First Christmas card of the year, I fancied being a bit untraditional so rather that red and green I went for a Pink and Purple twist!

I stamped the Forever Friends Image using Staz on Black ink, coloured with watercolours and layered onto a purple "snow" paper I Had in the stash, that was then mounted onto a pearlecent paper and then mounted again onto the snowy paper. the snowflake charm is a from Creative Charms and the greeting is stick on.

I Now have a Cuttlebug!!!

When I first started to make cards I didnt want to buy a Die cutting machine just incase I didnt enjoy making the cards, but I feel it has been enough time now and I was starting to feel restricted with shapes so I took myself to my local craft shop, asked for advice between the Big Shot and the Cuttlebug and I came away with the Cuttlebug! and i'm so pleased with it!

Scrapbook Update

Well months after i started my Neices Scrapbook i have finally started the pages and she is due on saturday - wooooooopppppppeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!

so teh follolwing are some of teh pages i have created so far, just need to finish the others, hopefully wont take 4 months or so to get it finished :)

Now She is Seven months old and being Christened on sunday - I thought i had beeter get on with the scrapbook!
